Triple Flip Wild Rose, April 2-4!

You’re invited to experience the Triple Flip Wild Rose Women’s International Women’s Gymnastics Invitational in Edmonton!

We’re so excited that we are the official title sponsor of the Wild Rose Gymnastics Invitational Association from 2010 through 2012, leading up to the Summer Olympic Games! It’s going to be an amazing even like no other!

The highly anticipated 2010 Gymnastics Competition is set to take place April 2 – 4, at Edmonton’s Expo Centre at Northlands. More than 500 female gymnasts from around the world, including Team China, the 2008 Olympic Games gold winner, will showcase their gravity defying routines on all four apparatus (vault, bars, beam and floor) with Preliminaries for the Senior International Cup taking place on Saturday, April 3, and Finals held on Sunday, April 4.

“This year is an exciting one with Team China and Team Canada set to compete,” said Michel Arsenault, vice-president of the Triple Flip Wild Rose International Women’s Gymnastics Invitational. “It is truly rewarding to be able to host such a high-level competition here in Edmonton, and we encourage the community to come and see some of the world’s best perform here in our own backyard.”

This year, junior and senior-level gymnasts from Canada, China, the U.S., and U.K. will be attending, including the 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist Deng Linlin from China, who will be joined by teammates Jiang Yuyuan and Sui Lu.

The Triple Flip Wild Rose International Women’s Gymnastics Invitational assembles the strongest field of female senior gymnasts in Canada and is the only event of its kind to provide gymnasts at all levels with the opportunity to gain international competitive experience, with the ultimate goal to see them compete in the 2012 or 2016 Summer Olympic Games.

The volunteer-driven Wild Rose event began with 15 sponsors and has grown to include 25 more, including the new three-year Triple Flip title sponsorship that maximizes synergies between Triple Flip and the Wild Rose Association, as both organizations share in the empowerment of girls to aspire to and achieve high standards for themselves.

The Wild Rose Gymnastics Invitational Association is also unique in its inclusive approach to allowing girls as young as six with opportunities to gain international competitive experience competing alongside elite gymnasts. After some discussion, it became clear that the shared values between Triple Flip and the association, in terms of empowering girls to aspire to and achieve high standards, was a perfect fit for a sponsorship deal.

As title sponsor, Triple Flip will see its name and logo on all marketing and event-related materials and as the official event supplier; Triple Flip will host an on-site pop-up store selling Triple Flip and event activewear and accessories.

With a focus on activewear, Triple Flip strongly supports girls to live healthy active lifestyles and provides them with clothing tailored to their individual sport and lifestyles. Triple Flip also has an exclusive Teamwear division that outfits 150 sports teams across Canada with 100 per cent made-in-Canada uniforms for sports such as skating, gymnastics and dance. Triple Flip Team will host a teamwear display at the event.

Held in Edmonton this weekend, the event will draw hundreds of female athletes and spectators from around the world!

On April 3-5, 2009, the Wild Rose Gymnastics Invitational will be revived after a seven-year hiatus. The last Wild Rose competition was held in 2002 and featured more than 800 gymnasts from around the world. This year’s competition will bring back the excitement and prestige of participating in an international event for aspiring young athletes.

A bronze sponsor, Triple Flip joins 30 other organizations such as the Alberta Gymnastics Federation, Champion Gymnastics, and Gymnastics Canada Gymnastique, in sponsoring the event.

Triple Flip is proud to support The Princess Shop’s second annual fundraiser, the Glass Slipper Benefit for Princesses,  March 13, 2009 at TCU Place in Saskatoon.  The event will feature this year’s Princesses modeling donated dresses, dinner, live and silent auction, guest speaker Miss Canada Galaxy Shannon Smadella as well as musical guests Jodi King and Cidne Treen. Last year, outstanding response and support from the community resulted in a sold-out, standing room only event and great financial contributions to assist with The Princess Shop’s operating budget. Hey Edmonton, looking for something heart-warming to do on a cold Sunday afternoon?

On Sunday Feb 22nd, 2:30pm at Eva O. Howard Theatre, Victoria School, ten dance studios will put their best dance routines on stage for a wonderful dance show for charity.  This is the 5th annual Community Spirit show, with close to 200 dancers, pulled together by Citie Ballet, a leader in providing the best in ballet and contemporary performing challenges for aspiring young dancers.

At this special event, there will also be guest performances from dancers from the Alberta Ballet! 

Money raised from the show will go to Cystic Fibrosis, a condition that makes breathing and digesting food difficult.  There will also be a silent auction to help raise funds.
