Jessica Hernandez of B.C., has been a huge fan of Triple Flip since she discovered that the clothes fit her tall frame perfectly. From that day on, Jessica has worn her Flip proudly and has become a very active spokesperson for the brand and experience. Even though Jessica has had quite a busy summer, she made sure to keep the Triple Flip Fans in the loop and wrote about her recent experience in Triple Flip Morgan Crossing. Our “Flip Girl Reporter” Jessica was lucky enough to win a Roxy Outfit each month for a YEAR at our Triple Flip event, “Triple Hit”  in April. Here is her experience for July.

Hey Triple Flip Girls!

How’s your summer going?! Mine has been amazing! I thought I would share with you my latest shopping adventure in my local Triple Flip Store in South Surrey at Morgan Crossing. In case you didn’t know, I was the lucky girl that won a free Roxy outfit each month for a year. I still can not believe it! So today I’m giving you an inside look on how I picked my new Roxy outfit for the month of July!

What I love most about Triple Flip is how every time I visit the store, the Flip staff are so friendly & helpful.  Both Vanessa, the manager, and Pinder were so insightful and patience in helping me pick my outfits and most of all I have an amazing time shopping with them! They were so fun and energetic!! I love their suggestions for styles and colours, they even helped me pick accessories too. They are always honest and they tell me if something doesn’t fit right or look good on me, and make sure to suggest something else. They are always willing to call other locations to find me another size if they dont have it, not too many stores do that for you!

This time I tried on  a lot of  adorable Roxy dresses, tops, rompers, and shorts.I had a very tough time deciding but in the end I picked a cute Roxy “Jinx” tank top and “Party Wave” black  Bermuda shorts. I also got some awesome neon flip flops and a white canvas Roxy purse. I made sure to thank Vanessa and Parm for helping me pick out my amazing Roxy outfit. As usual I had so much fun trying on everything in the store! It really is a dream come true to be able to pick out a Roxy outfit each month for free… and I cannot wait to come back for August!

With back to school around the corner, I noticed Triple Flip has some great new fall fashions arriving! So make sure you head in to your TF store soon to check it all out! Jessica Hernandez of B.C., has been a huge fan of Triple Flip since she discovered that the clothes fit her tall frame perfectly. From that day on, Jessica has worn her Flip proudly and has become a very active spokesperson for the brand and experience. Jessica at 11 years old has many accomplishments to be proud of.  She participates in assemblies at school and is very involved with non-profit organizations in her community, the SPCA to name one. She has even appeared as a guest on the Caesar Milan Show!  More recently Jessica agreed to appear at our Grand Opening in Coquitlam as our “Flip Girl Reporter”. At this event she walked the catwalk and interviewed a number of media guests and very happy girls. Read below for her personal blog on this event.  Thanks Jessica!

Hey all you Fantastic Flip Fans! I would first like to give a special thank you to all those amazingly unique girls and their moms and dads who I had the opportunity to interview at the VIP Party on Thursday night, and the Grand Opening Party all day Saturday, at Triple Flip, Coquitlam Centre….You were all such great sports and let your personalities shine. I loved getting to know you and sharing the excitement of the TF experience! So, let me explain exactly what the TF experience is…At the Triple Flip Coquitlam Centre VIP Night, there were 25 media guests along with their daughters, nieces or friends! There were some amazing guests including Amy Beeman, from The Beat 94.5, and some wonderful bloggers that I got to meet such as the ladies from MomMomOnTheGo, MomIncMOVEMENT, MomCafe Tricities, and FitKnitChick.  What was really great about these ladies was that they really cared about hearing what Triple Flip was about.  It was really exciting to be able to share my feelings and experiences at Triple Flip with them!

Everyone was so excited when they arrived, and the store was buzzing.  I hung out in the fabulous Flip Lounge near the change rooms, to speak with girls as they came out in their Triple Flip clothes for the very first time.  I loved seeing the big smiles on their faces and hearing their comments.  My favourite highlight was meeting two sisters that really wanted to be live mannequins.  One of them was 16 and she was worried the clothes wouldn’t fit her; she was so excited when we found her some awesome stuff to model. That is what I love about TF, no matter what your shape or size, their clothes fit everyone. Also make sure if you haven’t been to a Triple Flip store before, you have to check out the change rooms!  Each one is done in a different colour of amazing wallpaper, has a unique chair and light.  I like to try out a different one every time I go!  I’d love to hear from you on which one is your favourite, so comment below!

Then came the Grand Opening Party, on Saturday.  What seemed like a hundred girls were lined up outside the doors, some since eight o’clock!  The first 50 girls received free gifts, winning anything from a free Minky Dimples Jacket, to a pair of Triple Flip shorts or a top!   There were three fashion shows throughout the day where real Triple Flip customers got to model their fav outfits on the runway in the middle of the mall, and as live mannequins in the store windows!   I was so lucky to be able to be in every fashion show with the live mannequins, and I met some great girls.  You all represented the brand so beautifully, and I will never forget sharing that experience with you.

Some of the highlights for me were hearing what activities you love to do and how TF makes such great clothes for such a variety of sports, dance and clothes just to have fun in. I loved hearing what your favorite item is and the majority said the Minky Jacket. I loved seeing the excitement when we asked girls that were just shopping in the store to be a part of the fashion show. What an opportunity to strut on the cat walk, some of the girls were nervous but once they got on that stage with the music blasting, they rocked it. That is what I like about TF is that they use their customers as the models and Flip Girls, everyday people that love their line of clothes. The highlight of this amazing day for me was a little 8 year old shopper named Claire. She picked out the same outfit I was wearing and we walked the runway together, me and my mini me.  Later when I asked her what she would buy if she won the Triple Flip $300 shopping spree and she said “YOU”……

Over the two events, Gina, the wonderful camera lady from Curve Communications, helped me document each of these amazing events and interview the TF fans. Thanks Gina!   I’m looking forward to posting some clips of the interviews soon so you can hear what everyone had to say!  I also want to send out a huge thank you to Linda Maslechko and Mona Rae Peterson, the two ladies who started Triple Flip, and the Coquitlam Store Manager, Kat Nikkel, for everything they did to make the Grand Opening special for every single girl, and even me!  The entire Triple Flip staff was amazing in finding sizes, making the store look beautiful, and making sure every Flip Fan was happy and satisfied to the fullest. Most of all, thank you to all the loyal TF Fans who make events like this so memorable and full of excitement. I hope everyone had an awesome day of shopping and an unforgettable experience! I certainly had an experience of a lifetime!   Until next time.

Question: What exactly is a burnout tee, and how do they get so soft and comfortable?

Answer: Making burnout t-shirts uses acid applied to fabric to create designs. Burnout or Devoré fabric is a material that has been chemically “burned” with an acid to produce sheer areas. This technique can be used on a wide range of fabrics, including t-shirts and velvets. However, the fabric must be a combination of cellulose (plant) fibers, such as cotton and linen, and protein or manmade fibers, such as silk, wool, polyester or nylon. The acid used burns away the cotton, leaving only the protein or manmade fibers behind.   Pretty cool huh?

With an invitation in hand Abby and I were off to the Triple Flip VIP Grand Opening party for their new Coquitlam Center location.

Abby was so excited. So was I.

Not only was she was excited to shop at Triple Flip, she was ready for some VIP treatment. Needing a “girls night out” was evident.

I was excited to get to see how another retailer handles a grand opening event like this. How they engaged their customers, who they invited, how the night was executed. Personally I was looking forward to the time with my daughter; we don’t get enough of them and lately I have feel she needs more. (insert working-Mom guilt here)
